Art Of Sampling Intro
September 2nd 2009 22:04
In Hip Hop/Rnb a lot of beats are made from samples.Sometimes you don't even notice it because the producer sampled so well. Some consider the sampling, not an art but an criminal act, saying that sampling is just like stealing. That it is easy to make a beat when you sample because you just take what you found to make your beat, you never create.I respect there opinion but for me,sampling is an art.An art, that if really well made, can be the most beautiful thing for you ears. There are two way to sample.
1.The Looping:This is the easy way to make a beat, looping is taking a part from any song, with a long or short length, depending on how you like it and just copy/paste that loop non stop until you get your beat done, after that you add your drum pattern, some bass and some Synth here and there and....Voila,you got yourself a beat.
2.The Chopping:This is the hard way, depending on your chop.Chopping is cutting little sounds ,that you like, here and there from your sample. Then rearranging those chop in a way to create your own loop for your beat.
Now in this blog I am going to show you where did most of the beats you hear today on your radio found there sample. And I am going to show you songs that are very well produce depending on how the sample was use.I will rate producers depending on how they sample.
Now this blog is not about beat making,It is about sampling,so producers who don't sample doesn't count in that list.
I will dig deep, until I found the best sampled songs.
PS:If you find a really crazy sample and want to share it on the blog, send me a message at :The_future_history@hotmail.com
Thank You
